Hike the Sans Souci Nature Preserve

15 hikers Children Grades 1-5 with an adult chaperone. Hike and explore our very own beautiful Sans Souci Park in Bayport. Join Jan Porinchak, Sierra Club hike instructor, naturalist and artist as he leads a hike through the Sans Souci Park. Learn about our local wildlife turtles, snakes, frogs, and salamanders and discover how they survive in Long Island’s natural world. It will be a fascinating hike for both children and adults! Registered participants will meet us at the trail head. Fun With Physics!

Tropical Reef Paradise

25 children entering Grades 2-5 adult caregivers are welcome to stay for this program. Participants will learn about beautiful tropical fish and the coral reef habitat they live in, while they are taught to create realistic and whimsical sculptures of our fishy friends. Art instructor and naturalist Jan Porinchak will lead participants step by step in creating 3 -dimensional artwork of tropical fish, coral, and other sea creatures. The beautiful aquatic creations will be painted, and taken home ready to display! Fun for both children and adults! BPJ607

Gingerbread Houses

Monday, December 15, 6:00-7:00pm or 7:30-8:30 30 families Children must be 3 years of age through the 5th grade. Cost per family: $10.00 One gingerbread house per family. Please bring in a check made out to the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library by November 24th. Enjoy a beloved family tradition. Guy Gagliano, professional baker will show you everything you need to know to decorate a delicious gingerbread house. All you need to bring is your creativity and a box to carry your gingerbread house home.
